Honoring Our Healthcare Heroes

We know that healthcare workers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic have been working tirelessly to care for patients around the country. Many of these healthcare workers include parents with babies at home. At Nanit, we appreciate all that you are doing to not only care for your patients, but also to keep the rest of us safe and healthy.

This is why we want to do something for you. As a sign of our gratitude, we are offering $100 off any Nanit Plus camera purchase for our customers who are healthcare workers. All healthcare workers can take advantage of this offer. This includes EMTS, health aides, imaging technicians, laboratory technicians, nurses, nursing assistants, lactation consultants, paramedics, pharmacists, physicians, physician assistants, and respiratory therapists. It’s our way of giving back something to those who are giving so much.

One of the many people who has dedicated her life to helping others is Kate. She’s a neonatal intensive care unit registered nurse with an 8-week-old daughter at home. Here she shares her story about how the pandemic has affected her and how Nanit is helping during this time.

As a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) registered nurse, a certified sleep consultant, and as a mom of three kids under three, safe sleep is of the utmost importance to me. I preach about and educate on safe sleep practices to patient’s parents, to my friends and family, clients, and to my community at @bumble.baby.

I suffered from a deep postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety after my second pregnancy with my daughter, Bee. During this time, my anxiety spiked and I was checking that she was breathing in the middle of the night. It was debilitating. If I wasn’t in her room checking on her with my hand on her abdomen and feeling for breathing, I would stare at her chest from the monitor and watch for movement on a grainy screen – holding my breath until I saw it.

The Nanit monitor has eased so much of my anxiety in the postpartum period with my daughter, Roey. She is now 8 weeks old and I rest more easily.

When a trip to grandma and grandpa’s house isn’t possible, Nanit is keeping families connected during this time of COVID-19 with the User Permissions feature and Two-Way Audio. With your permission, family members can log in to get a peek at the baby when they cannot visit in person. This feature is also great for nannies and babysitters so you don’t have to hand off your iPad or phone when you leave! Plus, you can always check in when you need to while you are gone.

The Nanit app notifies you when there is movement or sound detected in your baby’s room, so you do not have to have the app open on your screen constantly. I appreciate this feature because the sound of a constant sound machine is something I had to listen to for the past 3.5 years!

As a NICU nurse, I know how hard it is to be away from your baby for 12-16 hour shifts or longer. Sometimes I wouldn’t see my baby for 3 days in a row! Nanit is helping ease this transition. I love that Nanit is supporting our Healthcare Heroes by giving healthcare workers $100 off all Nanit cameras to help them stay connected to their families, even if they can’t be at home where their heart is.

If you’re a healthcare worker who is looking to buy a Nanit camera and take advantage of our $100 discount offer, simply fill out this form.
