Meet Pro Parent Jenny Morse

I live with my husband, two dogs, and two and half year old little boy named Sean. We are expecting another little boy in December/January and are excited to grow our family. My husband and I both work remotely and our toddler lives his best life in daycare with his little friends. The dogs love their little brother and our younger dog, Nessie, can often be found wherever Sean is.

What does your bedtime routine usually look like?

We have had the same bedtime routine since Sean was born. We take a bath, get dressed in pajamas, and drink a warm bottle of milk while we read for about half an hour. Sean loves books and I love reading to him just as much. We then say goodnight to Daddy and I put his blanket on him with his menagerie of stuffed animals.

Why Nanit?

We wanted a monitor that tracked Sean's breathing when we moved him to his own room around 6 months old. I was too concerned about the electronic piece and potential burning with competitors, so the Nanit was our natural choice.

Favorite Nanit products and features?

The camera is definitely our favorite, although I have really enjoyed the sound + light machine as well! I also tell new mom friends that the breathing band is not only useful for the breathing tracking, but great for infants with strong startle reflex–it was a life saver for us!

I love the fact that I can go back and review moments in the app. There have been times that Sean will wake up a few hours after we put him to bed and sing himself back to sleep. Being able to capture and save those moments has been priceless.

What tips or advice would you share with first-time parents?

Give yourself and your partner a lot of grace. There really is no way to prepare for the incredibly rewarding yet challenging journey of being a parent and taking moments to check in with yourself and each other are so important. Everyone is figuring it out at the same time and things always get better.

How does Nanit support you as a parent?

I have such greater peace of mind with Nanit. We have been using ours for over two years and I love watching Sean every night. I have had to travel some for work and it has been so comforting to be able to check in on Sean when I wasn't there. As Sean transitions to his big boy bed and new room in preparation for his brother, we will be relying on the Nanit to make sure he isn't getting into too much trouble with his newfound freedom!

As we get ready for a newborn again, I will be much more confident this time around knowing we have Nanit to help keep an eye on him. My only regret was not getting the Nanit sooner the first time around!
